How to start a fire with water

Huh ... sound`s crazy but it really works .. there are few simple steps you need to do .

Take a piece of plastic wrap or plastic bag , and form something
which looks like pocket or ball bring the four ends together and  twist the wrap .  Fill  it with water .

Make you sure than the sunlight point is smallest as possible .
Using cedar bark or tinder fungus will make things even better . You will see the smoke after 20-25 seconds.

Fire from ice

Winter is on our door so finding dry wood little bit hard so here some tricks how to start a fire from ice . If you wear a glasses you can use them but if you don`t , simple use ice instead of lens .
First take a piece of ice . clean one to look like a glass .
Put the piece of clean  ice into and slowly melt into a bottom of a  bowl . Bowl need`s to have some spherical shape.

Melt the ice from both sides , after that you will get something which look`s like a lens ..
Try with the sunlight .  Test the lens in ability ti make a small spot .
Coal on cedar tinder. you will need 30 sec. to get a coal. You can start with shredded bark too . After 30-35 seconds you will see the smoke .
Second way is to take a block of ice and with hand saw or you knife shape into a ball . You need to get something to looks like a sphere.
With you hands polish the ball . same way like we make a snowball or meatball . Constant packing and rotating motion of the hands tends to improve geometry of the sphere. At the end you will get double convex lens.
The tinder will lit quickly , after 20 seconds you will get the smoke .
Power of the lens you can test also like i did on a leather gloves . it burns for a sec .

How to start a fire

The Hand Drill

The hand drill method is the most primitive, the most primal, and the most difficult to do All you need is wood, tireless hands, and some gritty determination. Therefore, it’ll put more hair on your chest than any other method. Here’s how it’s done:

Build a tinder nest. Your tinder nest will be used to create the flame you get from the spark you’re about to create. Make a tinder nest out of anything that catches fire easily, like dry grass, leaves, and bark.

Make your notch. Cut a v-shaped notch into your fire board and make a small depression adjacent to it.

Place bark underneath the notch. The bark will be used to catch an ember from the friction between the spindle and fireboard.

Start spinning. Place the spindle into the depression on your fire board. Your spindle should be about 2 feet long for this to work properly. Maintain pressure on the board and start rolling the spindle between your hands, running them quickly down the spindle. Keep doing this until an ember is formed on the fireboard.

Start a fire! Once you see a glowing ember, tap the fire board to drop you ember onto the piece of bark. Transfer the bark to your nest of tinder. Gently blow on it to start your flame.

You can also use a Bow Drill

Ray Mears - Survival Master

Ray Mears
Born 7 February 1964 (age 48)
Kenley, London
Known for Bushcraft and survival techniques.

It was his school judo teacher Kingsley who fired his imagination and encouraged him to look at the world in a different way. Ray found Kingsley to be a wonderful man. He had fought behind enemy lines in Burma during the Second World War, and taught Ray to challenge conventional wisdom and practices. "You don't need equipment, you need knowledge to survive in the wild", he would tell him. "Maximum efficiency from minimum effort", was another of his themes. These simple principles have been enshrined in Ray's Bushcraft philosophy, in both his writing and his teaching.

Digesting every scrap of information relating to survival that he could find in his local library, Ray soon began to learn skills that had not been employed on the North Downs for perhaps as long as ten thousand years. Since those early days Ray has expanded his horizons, literally travelling the World many times over. Conversing in the universal language of Bushcraft, he has won the friendship of many of the Earth's first Nations, and has been privileged enough to accompany them while hunting, tracking, and searching for wild plants for food and medicine.

Most important rule

The  basic and most important rule is whenever you decide to camp or just walk in the woods , make you sure than someone knows where are you going and when is your plan to come back . This mean somebody will know if you stuck or get injured meanwhile , this will mean to get help in right time. If you are lost, try to get your bearings before moving on.  If you're tired, rest. If you're hungry, try to find food and always care water with you to do not dehydrate.
And last advice Always push yourself to the limits of your strenght , never give up , never say to yourself you can`t do it
